December 6th, 1:00 pm at the MKR Farm. Dessie Smith Prescott taught her friend Marjorie Rawlings how to hunt and fish, and Rawlings wrote about their trip up the St. Johns River in CROSS CREEK. Candace Booth, Dessie's companion and caregiver for 18 years, will present the program at the Farm, and share historic photos and items that reveal Dessie's colorful life.

The long-awaited designation of the Cross Creek home of Marjorie Rawlings as a National Historic Landmark will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3rd, 2007 at 2:00 pm. The dedication will be held on the grounds of the MKR Historic State Park.
